The COVID 19 community level transmission rate in Allegheny County is now considered "low" and as such, masks in class will only be required by students who are sick, experiencing symptoms, tested positive for the virus or who have had an exposure.

The CDC announced today that if you are 2-weeks out from your 2nd vaccine shot (Pfizer/Moderna) that you can safely go WITHOUT a mask outdoors (and some indoors) and not have to worry about physically distancing yourself.

What does this mean for PCC? You can go MASKLESS at practice
BUT must show me your vaccine record card or send me a picture of it.

If you are NOT fully vaccinated
then you still have to wear a mask.

If you are worried about your health, and want to still wear a mask even though you are fully vaccinated, that is fine too.

COVID-19 AUGUST 2020 REOPENING PROTOCOLS

Before class…

  • Class check 1: Class mats and equipment sanitization will be performed 30 mins. before each class. (The sanitization product, Sniper, has been ordered and will be used for this.)

  • Self-check: Any symptoms? Fever? Coughing? (if so, please refrain from coming to class.)

  • Bathroom check: Use the bathroom before coming to class. Access to the house will only be allowed in an emergency.

  • Hand check 1: Wash your hands. Hand sanitize too.

  • Equipment check: Do I have MY stuff? Mask, sticks, daggers, gloves, water, hand sanitizer, etc.? Is my stuff clean? Sanitize wipe-down your stuff. (PCC equipment will be available for your use, but it is safer to use your own equipment.)  

During class…

  • Hand check 2: Hand-sanitizer wash down please before engaging in any practice.

  • Equipment/personal items: Meticulously keep your stuff together.

  • Wear your mask: Masks are required. Later towards the end of July, this will be reassessed. Remember: I wear a mask for your protection from my germs. You wear your mask to protect me from your germs. No mask – no practice.

  • Hand check 3: Hand sanitize during practice as needed.

  • Minimum contact: We will refrain from doing drills with too much contact (no face). Minimum contact will include hand-hand-arm touching. If you prefer to use latex gloves, it is your call. As the summer progresses, this will be reassessed.

After class…

  • Hand check 4: Hand-sanitizer wash down at the end of each practice.

  • Equipment/personal items: Please gather up all of your stuff. Including garbage. You may use the garbage cans under the deck for disposable items.

  • Class check 2: Sanitize wipe-down of PCC mats, equipment and related stuff.
